COVID – 19 | The rules of social distancing lead us to innovate and this is especially true for the organization of events. In 2021 the CRYO Races will take place at home, but prepare yourself for a full immersion in the lake Saint-Jean culture!
THE RACES 32km to-go – My challenge
The CRYO Races are a truly unique event in which we offer runners to make a winter crossing of Lake St-Jean in the dim light of winter. The crisis we are currently experiencing has led us to rethink this magical event. It is therefore illuminated by headlamps, that participants will take on the physical and psychological challenges of the CRYO Races at home.Transported by the mystical and unpredictable universe of Lac Saint-Jean, they will experience a real immersion in the land of «blueberries», without actually setting foot on the lake! The ideal preparation to brave the lake in 2022!
Since 1996, the On the Tip of the Toe Foundation has organized more than 50 therapeutic adventure expeditions for young people living with cancer. Much more than outdoor adventures, these excursions offer participants an opportunity to meet other young people who share the same realities.
The On the Tip of the Toe Foundation aims to help young people rebuild self-esteem and restore their hope in life by presenting them with challenges and helping them to meet those challenges. By participating in extraordinary expeditions to the extent of their abilities, these young people discover new horizons.
DIFFICULT, YES…. BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE
Running in the winter is not the easiest! We face the darkness, the cold, the wind that pierces our clothes, the slush and even the ice. It’s both physically and psychologically demanding, and it takes a lot of mental strength. Motivated by the courage and determination shown by young people living with cancer, runners will have to brave the elements to achieve the challenge.
